Evidence and originals

India guidance includes three months’ bank statements stamped and signed by the bank, and income-tax acknowledgements for the last two assessment years. Employment, self-employment and pension evidence depend on your situation.

The July 2025 harmonised list includes a cover letter describing your purpose, dates, fellow travellers, transport and accommodation, plus passport and previous visa copies. Conditional sponsor, occupation, student and minor documents are included in preparation.

Germany-India asks for the biometric, address and last pages of an Indian passport. Keep bank-statement stamps visible and pages separable. Copies do not replace the originals.

All 29 countries have linked official India procedures. Tourism additions are scoped to the relevant jurisdiction: Italy Delhi asks for six months of bank statements and three years of tax returns; other lists can differ. France provides a personal generated list. Use the country link and appointment instructions alongside the document list.

Do document copies replace my originals?

No. Bring the original passport and evidence requested by your consulate. Prepared copies and print packs are convenience files; they are not official forms or a visa application.

Are these files guaranteed to be accepted?

No. File dimensions and size are only part of the requirement. The consulate or provider checks the photo, evidence and application. Check its current instructions.
