Current MoFA public document-attestation guidance, captured 8 October 2026. This explains attestation routes; your sponsor and immigration channel determine the family-residence checklist.

  1. 1. Preserve the original and use the correct attestation route

    Supported UAE-issued digital originals retain their QR, reference or barcode verification. Other documents follow the approved courier route: originals need Arabic/English or a certified translation, prior competent-authority certification where applicable, and must not be laminated.

Relationship and sponsor evidence

Confirm the current channel checklist. Applicable marriage or birth evidence, translations/attestations and sponsor identity/employment evidence depend on the application.

Retain signed, attested and digitally verifiable originals. MoFA now routes supported UAE-issued digital documents to digital attestation and other documents through an approved courier. Digital originals need their verification feature; courier originals must not be laminated and need Arabic/English or a legally certified translation. Make a derived copy only when the actual upload instructions require it.

Official steps

Family members who have completed 18 years need the applicable approved medical fitness test.

Do I need every document before preparing my photo?
